Re: DooM: The Dark Ages
I love it. For me, I don't think it beats 2016 overall, but it's closer to what I wanted a follow-up to that game to be, in terms of style, tone, vibe etc. I removed a lot of screen effects and changed the parry colour from neon green, all of which helped me settle in to the game more in my own way....

Re: General Gaming News
Looks very cool, loving the art direction and I'm a sucker for good physics and animation. That being said, it's very much a tech demo and not the actual game yet, so I'm tempering my expectations; especially with it being UE5. If they pull off all the features they're aiming for with this, then it'...

Re: The Room 101 thread - for things you hate or just having a bloody good moan
Excellent stuff. It's funny hearing some of it knowing that the real life details differ, such as Sal being a woman rather than a man and Smiley having a baritone voice (he had anything but that) and stealing sweets rather than booze, but I accept that I didn't offer all parts in such detail and tha...

Re: DooM: The Dark Ages
I'll throw in an alternate take. I wasn't sure at first, and I'm still getting used to the combat changes a few levels in, but it's clicking with me. They have entirely ditched double jumping and dodging - the latter still keeps catching me out - in favour of the shield for parries and dash-bash for...

Ah man, genuinely crying with laughter. First is still the best one, though.

Re: The Room 101 thread - for things you hate or just having a bloody good moan
I was tempted to write back my own feedback to the guy saying: "Terrible buyer: never even heard of him." Anyway, whatever. 1. The man who, after being confronted for trying to sneakily take a whole box of razors in his carrier bag, exclaimed that it was all a mistake, he thought the entire box was...

when he reached the exit to round off his innocence with the announcement that he couldn't be a thief because he's a deep sea diver. Flawless logic. So, you live in Edinburgh then? I lived there for close to 9 years, but I have been living in Glasgow for nearly 3 years. I'm from North Ayrshir...

Re: The Room 101 thread - for things you hate or just having a bloody good moan
Regarding food retail, I worked for Sainsbury's for years near the Royal Mile in Edinburgh - I have stories. Well, what are they? people at work who message you "hi", then spend 5-10 minutes typing out what they actually want. If you're going to break me off from what I'm doing, just tell me what y...
