BG3 certainly had a falloff, I don't think a single-player game would ever not, but the current numbers are more than ten times that of Starfield's.

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series
So I finished Fallout. I think my enthusiasm dipped a bit by the end; there's clearly a ton of love for the source material, and it's the most faithful game-TV/film adaptation I can think of in terms of aesthetic (and it must have cost a fortune to make as a result), but the tone just didn't seem to...

Re: General Gaming News
I think there will be plenty of people looking forward to it. Starfield is one of those games about which the agenda was set by the people who didn't like it and ignores the thousands of people who did like it. Because the general consensus was that it would be a hit in the same way Skyrim was when...

Re: General Gaming News
Former Lionhead-staffed studio announce their new game, release a demo, and in the same breath postpone its development. https://www.eurogamer.net/ex-lionhead-devs-announce-new-game-shelve-new-game-and-confirm-layoffs-all-at-the-same-time It's a pretty sobering take on the state of the games industr...

Re: Currently Playing
It's certainly appealing looking for me, but I read a review that said that healing items are consumables that don't get automatically replenished, and you have to gather materials to craft them. That's an instant deal-breaker for me; I like games that are challenging, but the second you make me gri...

Re: Elden Ring
I've ended up giving this another try after two years of saying I wouldn't. I'd gotten pretty good at Jedi Survivor so figured maybe I'm just better at this genre now, and I've had so little trouble compared to my first attempt when the game was first released. I'm not sure what it was, but previous...

Oh, hah, that's what I get for skim-reading.

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series
I finished watching The Three Body Problem last night. It was pretty good for the most part, the premise is a fun one that I was constantly expecting them to subvert as a twist at some point, but that thankfully didn't materialise. There are a handful of things that I think you have to suspend your ...

Re: General Film News
Those are solid shouts I suppose, although I did watch the Kurt Russell The Thing for the first time last year and really didn't think much of it (beyond the incredible practical effects anyway), and I don't think I even realised The Fly was a remake. I forget sometimes that remakes aren't really a ...

Re: General Film News
It would be nice for one of these remake projects to actually produce a film that was superior to the original. I'm really struggling trying to think of a single one that worked.

Re: General Film News
To be honest, I can actually see Liam Neeson suiting the role. Nielson was a serious actor that happened to be able to do deadpan perfectly. Neeson would just have to prove he could do it too. But it's the script that would be the issue; The Naked Gun and Police Squad had some of the tightest comic ...

Re: General Film News
I'd put money on the notion that The Naked Gun needs a remake will be funnier than any joke they write for said remake.
The Naked Gun is one the finest comedy films ever made, and it's unbelievable arrogance on behalf of a studio to think that any new version could come close.

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series
certainly not a patch on Band of Brothers, but then what is? I haven't tried MotA yet, but I ran out of steam halfway through The Pacific, and in all honesty I don't hold BoB in especially high regard either. I mean I recognise that it's an excellent series, but there's just something about the pre...
