Re: I Just Watched (Films)
Tron: Ares I didn't expect much from this, if I'm honest. It's barely even a sequel to one of my favourite films, 2010's Tron: Legacy, as it doesn't build on anything that film did - if anything it repeats some of the concepts but with none of the charm. I can't even call Jared Leto the worst thing...

Re: Trump: Impeach is the new Orange
Nah, not necessarily. I think their previous programme (which incidentally was cancelled in 2022/23 because of technical limitations, namely the barrel breaking after just 15-30 shots) was designing a weapon capable of being carried on an existing destroyer-class ship, none of which are nuclear powe...

Re: Trump: Impeach is the new Orange
They're not even naming the first ship after the class, which is the tradition. Makes me wonder whether he's planning on having an aircraft carrier renamed, as they can't have two USS Donald J. Trumps, and the US traditionally names its carriers after Presidents while battleships are named after sta...

Re: General TV News
It's a really minor point in the scheme of things, but Warner Bros. are the company that own HBO. HBO are the company that bankroll Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, which is one of the few in-depth outlets for US current affairs I actually trust. I am extremely glad there's not going to be a link...

Re: General TV News
Was there actually a good ending here? The Paramount bid was the one backed by Saudi Arabia and Jared Kushner.

I'm not sure I'd go as far as excited, but I'm certainly intrigued.

Re: Trump: Impeach is the new Orange
Can't wait to see how his diehard supporters attempt to defend him this time. I'm not sure what American pharmaceutical companies are getting ready to treat cognitive dissonance, but I'm sure it'll bankrupt anyone that needs to take it. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cpvd81470v1o Trump's now c...

Re: General Gaming News
Continuing on the cyberpunk theme, something I missed last week. Replaced, the stunning 2.5D side-scrolling adventure I'd wishlisted nearly 4 years ago finally has a release date (12/03/26). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fuUo7_VaboE There's still not a good idea of what the gameplay's actually lik...

Re: The Absolute State Of It - It's The UK Politics Thread!
If they were using the Star of David, then of course that's going to be read as antisemitic by the people that consider anything even remotely critical of Israel antisemitic. Yes, it's on the Israeli flag, but it's also the symbol of the Jewish faith and people. I detest how well the cry of antisemi...

Re: General Gaming News
A remake of one or more of The Old Republic games have been among them. Last I heard, the KOTOR 1 remake is still alive, albeit only because a lone developer raised his head to insist it wasn't entirely dead after rumours that it'd been shut down. Not confidence inspiring. It could all be coinciden...

Re: General Gaming News
I want to be excited for that, really, but frankly I'll wait until there's actual evidence it'll ever get released. The only big, exciting Star Wars games that have actually ever seen the light of day over the last decade have been the Respawn Jedi games. Everything else has had something between a ...

Re: Trump: Impeach is the new Orange
This is, I'm assured, not a headline from The Onion. https://techcrunch.com/2025/12/10/marco-rubio-bans-calibri-font-at-state-department-for-being-too-dei/ (Calibri was chosen during the Biden administration as the preferred font as it's easier to read by those with sight issues) I'd be tempted to s...

Wow, this really is pathetic.

A meaningless prize created by one of the most corrupt organisations on Earth which has bugger all to do with peace, specifically for him. And look how happy he looks.

Re: Battlefield 6
I haven't been playing for as long as you have (I think I hit rank 24 or 25 last night), but I think the maps are pretty good. They're obviously going for a realistic aesthetic, and the slightly dreary locations do work for that, even if I think the amount of detail the engine's capable of and the a...
