Re: Trump: Impeach is the new Orange
I think you have too high an expectation of character assassination. These people have no shame, no morals, and at this stage in the presidency, the ability to just say "that's fake news" and then throw 15 other news stories at the press to be able to just move on as if nothing happened. Hegseth and...

Re: General TV News
Yup, excited for that. I may end up giving the first season a second watch before season 2 starts.

Re: Battlefield 6
My opinion on it did waver quite a bit over the two weekends, but really the negatives were more about my feelings towards the genre as a whole than the game itself. I think they have a really solid game; great player movement, animations, incredible audio, visuals, the level destruction is fantasti...

Re: The Room 101 thread - for things you hate or just having a bloody good moan
I don't need to have a conversation with AI, not when this latest stage of "technology" has ridiculous power demands to serve it, at the expense of the population as a whole. Indeed. Just imagine the energy requirement of AI analysing the screen contents of millions of machines constantly. Data cen...

Re: The Room 101 thread - for things you hate or just having a bloody good moan
Pat of me thinks "ambient" in this context is just marketing speak trying to avoid the inevitable furore over privacy concerns. I am not installing an OS that is constantly analysing everything on my screen because there is no way it's doing that locally. I'm not sure I'd trust them even if they wer...

Re: The Room 101 thread - for things you hate or just having a bloody good moan
Does anyone actually understand what any of this means ? https://www.windowscentral.com/microsoft/windows-11/microsoft-teases-windows-12-next-version-os-agentic-ai-ambient-computing-copilot Davuluri confirms that in the wake of AI, Windows is going to change significantly. The OS is going to become ...

Re: Battlefield 6
It's good, probably more enjoyable than I was expecting given my usual dislike of this type of game. The maps are well designed to promote more close-medium range encounters, and the health regen mechanic makes sniping far less worthwhile unless you're particularly accurate. I just wish it was a lit...

Re: General Gaming News
Called it. Got back home, Dave had grabbed me a beta key. Booted up, got straight into a game with no queue whatsoever. Then proceeded to have an absolutely miserable ten minute game where I had to catch myself from uninstalling it, and giving it another try when more prepared to actually play inste...

Re: General Gaming News
Part of me suspects this is a planned marketing tactic. They know how many people would be logging in over today and tomorrow because beta access is restricted to those who have a code for it, and therefore they'll know exactly how many accounts would have access and they can assume that most of tho...

Re: Trump: Impeach is the new Orange
I don't think I was even more than dimly aware of Epstein before his death, but we're now talking about a direct link between him and the President of the United States that's been front-page news for weeks. If she dies, the suspicious is absolutely going to be on Trump, whereas with Epstein it was ...

Re: Trump: Impeach is the new Orange
Given that it's a story that refuses to go away, possibly the *only* story about Trump that's refused to go away, even I'd be surprised if they offed her at this stage because of how blatantly obvious it'd be. At the same time, I don't think they can offer a pardon either because of how blatantly ob...

Re: Trump: Impeach is the new Orange
Is it too much of a stretch to imagine that because trying to explain the economy and the job market to Trump is a painful and fruitless task, his advisors just bring him big colourful charts with all the lines going up, and that's why he thinks he's doing so well? I'm afraid that in the case of "l...

Re: Trump: Impeach is the new Orange

I think we just need to start referring to the US Government as the "US Protection Racket". He may as well have said "nice trade surplus you've got there, it'd be a shame if something were to happen to it."

Re: General Film News
True. I genuinely don't remember the last proper comedy film I watched. There are plenty of light-hearted films that might fit the bill (Deadpool and Wolverine's probably the closest), but they probably all list comedy second and action / adventure first.

Re: General Film News
Part of me wonders whether the jokes in the trailer were the only ones they could put in there, as all of the others are run-on, referential jokes (as that first review alludes to) that don't really work in a trailer format. With the exception of the Nordberg gag, everything in the trailers fell fla...
