Re: Currently Reading
It’s a good ole romp. There are some prerequisites before you start though. Minimum you should probably have read The Stand and Salems Lot before hand. There’s references all over the place but I think those are the major minimums. I mean you don’t have to, you’ll grasp what’s happening but as it p...

Re: Currently Reading
Oh most certainly. The books are quite the sprawling story but it is a really good one. There were elements of it that tested my suspension of disbelief, which I won't mention (they make up a small part of the 8-title sprawl though and come late in the series), but there is loads of fantastic stuff ...

Re: Daily forum quiz thread
I must confess, after being put out of the running by several days of zero connectivity in Devon, I took great delight in all the days I managed to sandwich myself between a win for WB and last place for Sly, edging WB slightly ahead. I may not have said anything Wrath, but I was 100% your wingman ...

I'm with you, I couldn't wait to uninstall it tbhAnimalmother wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2024 10:56 amI reinstalled Starfield a while back and played for a few weeks trying to get back into it. Uninstalled once I finally admitted to myself that there is little enjoyment to be found in this barren wasteland of a game.

Re: I Just Watched (Films)
So did you stick with it to the end, and did you watch part 2? Not yet mate. I'm building up the courage to make an attempt  I'm not knocking your taste in films either btw, it just did nowt for me. Oh don't worry, I haven't taken it personally :) The films are certainly not the best things ev...

Re: The Room 102 thread - for things you love or just having a bloody good praise!
I will listen to teased tracks from forthcoming albums - I have done so recently with Devy, Opeth and a young Danish band whose first album I loved called Iotunn. I know the Iotunn guys a little bit, and they asked me what I thought of their latest offering. I had to tell them that I had only listen...

Re: I Just Watched (Films)
Everyone I know that saw Rebel Moon said it was hot garbage. But after your glowing review I might take a look. Prepare to be shunned if I don't enjoy it. Was Zach Snyder always a bit shit? Dawn of the Dead, 300 and Watchmen are great, everything else not so much. It isn't the best film ever made, ...

Re: I Just Watched (Films)
Rebel Moon - Directors cut parts 1 & 2 I read a review in the Guardian which wasn't particularly glowing, plus I am not really much of a sci-fi buff, so of course I decided that about 7 hours of film would be worth my time :) I enjoyed it a lot as it turned out. I know there was a brief exchange of...

Re: New Devy...
Let me qualify my enjoyment a little - this really isn't my usual fare, but it is Devy so it gets an automatic listen. Also, while I am being picky, any song that adds in references to Rawk'n'Roll generally makes me cringe - but again it's Dev, so will give him a pass. What made me enjoy it and reco...

Re: Civilization 7
I have never really been bitten by the Civ bug. Used to watch a mate of mine play it obsessively (the original) back in the day, he would smoke weed and conquer for hours at a time but it never grabbed me. I always liked the concept, but then along came Total War, in particular Medieval, and that sc...
