Re: The Absolute State Of It - It's The UK Politics Thread!

Being rather closer to retirement I can see the value in the ISA allowance. What you retire with is what you have, so being able to make the money that you have saved throughout your working life work for you when you have no means of topping up the pot (other than getting back on the fucking treadm...

The ending of GoT thoroughly poisoned that particular chalice for me.
Yeah have to say I am in the same camp. After the absolute dross that was House of the Dragon I can't raise the slightest level of tumescence for this...

Re: The gig thread

Yeah the price scales on the size of the venue/band I assume. £40 has become the standard minimum t-shirt cost at small venues, but when I saw Gojira at the Ally Pally a hoodie was £80 and tshirts £50 iirc. It's not the bands doing though. I have seen some bands that I follow suggesting buying merch...

Re: The gig thread

£40 for a shirt or hat though ffs! Yeah this is a new scam from venues, many of which (i.e. the ones owned by various large corporates, looking at you o2 ¬_¬) now insist on a 20% cut in merch sales, which has driven prices way up. I think it stinks, they wouldn't be making anything if the band were...

Not looked at anything for years Dave. I have iTunes installed but never use it except for a very occasional phone backup, I play everything via Amazon Music these days.

Re: Trump: Impeach is the new Orange

Very smart. That’s a perfect parry against the midterm wipeout letting her come back post Trump virtually unscathed out even bolstered. She’s really not as daft as her conspiracies make her seem. Oh I think she probably is, she just has some very calculating nazis among her 'people' guiding her I s...

Re: Currently Reading

A series I have tried to get into on a few occasions now but have always put the first book down before the halfway point. It is worth sticking with, I have made my way through most of the series and enjoyed it. It remains hard work, but is also a fantastically woven story. I have recently discover...

Re: Celebs are still dropping off....

I was never really a KISS fan, although mostly because of Gene Simmons twattery and Paul Stanley's voice. Ace Frehley was a massively influential guitar player though, RIP.

Re: Starfield has a release date

What did give me a shred of hope the other day was that the UESP team (who make the excellent Elder Scrolls wiki, which is night and day better than any other RPG wiki ever made) were invited to Bethesda to have a sneak peak at ES6, and while they went in with skepticism and concerns, they claim th...

Re: The Room 101 thread - for things you hate or just having a bloody good moan

Well my Amazon saga continues. Sent an email off to a bunch of their email addresses that I found last week to give them one final shot at fixing things for me. Most of them bounced back as no longer being able to receive inbound emails. One responded from an Amazon India email basically just telli...
