Re: Trump: Impeach is the new Orange

I expect there will be a disappointing sentencing (i.e. no prison) followed by weeks or months of appeals, but at least it’s official now: he’s a convicted felon. And sadly it probably won’t make a jot of difference to his voter base. EDIT - Holy shit, I hadn’t realised that each of the 34 charges h...

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

Dazed and Confused I first watched this about 15 years ago and didn't rate it at all, but given how much people fawn over it, I thought I'd give it another chance. I still don't like it. I get that it's a 'slice of life' film and in that respect it's very successful and captures the time and settin...

Re: Currently Playing

I loved Severance back in the day, especially the Conan-inspired world design and music, and the fact that it let you dismember enemies and set things on fire. It was nails tough and clunky even back then, and when I tried the GOG version last year I found it almost unplayable. One that’s best left ...

Re: The 'Look What the Postman Brought Me' Thread - Normal Edition

Egbert's always been my favourite, not least because Mike's complete aloofness to the power Egbert wields translates perfectly into the character.

Re: The 'Look What the Postman Brought Me' Thread - Normal Edition

I know a few of us here watch the Oxventure, so I thought I'd share the new addition to the tat sitting above my monitor. Say hello to shield-surfing Egbert, bomb ready to go:

Re: The Absolute State Of It - It's The UK Politics Thread!

And the games have started already: https://bylinetimes.com/2024/05/23/rishi-sunak-staged-election-question-from-conservative-councillor-posing-as-ordinary-voter/ The man told Sunak that “the biggest issue is going to be immigration over this election campaign” before asking him whether “your Rwanda...

Re: The Absolute State Of It - It's The UK Politics Thread!

The most gleeful thing about it is that it will be his legacy. That will be the clip they dig out whenever he’s mentioned in future, stood there like a schoolboy who’s forgotten his coat, being humiliated by a mocking tune. Robert Peston said the press gang could barely hear what he was saying. :lol...

Re: The Absolute State Of It - It's The UK Politics Thread!

General election called for 4th July. Have to say I’m enjoying Sunak getting absolutely drenched at the podium while protesters blast out Things Can Only Get Better at full volume.

Re: Elden Ring

That's one of the things I love about these games. If certain significant features are hidden away like that it makes you wonder what other more optional hidden content there is to discover. It rewards you slowly going through each area and checking corners for hidden walls and buttons and encourag...

Re: Elden Ring

A bit of googling suggests that as long as you don’t start NG+ after the final boss, you should be okay. I’m just acutely aware of how obtuse some FromSoft DLC has been to access, such as Bloodborne where you have to go to a random railing in some corner of the city where an arm descends from the sk...

Re: Elden Ring

Once you’ve been to the giant’s forge, I’d say you could blitz through the main quest in about 10 hours, or maybe 15 with more exploration. For the DLC you need to have defeated Radahn (which you will have done) and Mohg Lord of Blood (which I think is optional in the main game). It’s Mohg’s arena w...

Re: Currently Playing

Star Citizen If you’re not aware, Star Citizen is free to play until 29th May. I installed it mostly out of morbid curiosity and it did not go well. Once it had downloaded I was prompted to create an account and sign in, only to find it wouldn’t let me as it kept saying I was unauthorised after ent...

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/world-middle-east-69035051 This is really going to calm things down in the region. :? The area the helicopter was flying in was very foggy and so in all likelihood it was a genuine accident, but given the timing and the fact that Mossad do whatever they want with impu...

Re: Sad news about Solitaire

I'm sorry that I never got to know him better than the conversations we had here on the forum, but I think it was clear to everyone what a wonderful person he was and what an eventful life he'd led.

RIP Todd. :(

Well, put it this way, we watched the first JW film and didn't watch any subsequent ones.
Same here. The original Jurassic Park was a lesson in how playing god is a bad idea (and one of my favourite films of all time), whereas in the first Jurassic World everyone was just incredibly stupid.
