Re: Trump: Impeach is the new Orange
The whole thing was deeply weird and this makes it even weirder… but I still can’t see how the shooting being staged makes any sense. A man died, so the fired rounds were real (at least the ones that hit him, but a mix of live and blank rounds would mean two shooters). If it was staged, that means t...

Re: I Just Watched (Films)
The Informant! True story starring Matt Damon and Scott Bakula about a high-level whistleblower at a food company in the early 90s. I would say it's best to go in with no knowledge of the people or the events, because there are a few real surprises as it goes on. For a fairly dry subject matter, it...

Ouch.
Any idea what the cause was? Could be a concern for other components potentially (speaking from flame-filled experience).

I'm all for it in principle, but how are they going to spin this as anything other than a cynical fuck you to Reform? Not th...

I’d hope it will correct itself when every development manager in the company verbally (and possibly physically) assaults them.

Fuck knows. I'm all for strong security practises, but not at the expense of being able to actually function as a business!

Re: The Room 101 thread - for things you hate or just having a bloody good moan
In the latest adventure of my Dilbertesque existence, the software company that I work for has introduced (with no consultation or warning) an approved applications list, meaning only apps on the list can be installed and used. While on the surface this might seem sensible at best and a mild inconve...

Re: The Room 101 thread - for things you hate or just having a bloody good moan
My parents have got a portable one, but only use it as a last resort (like this weekend) because it's a faff to set up the window screen. I'm not sure it'd work great in my house as the insulation is less than ideal. As for built-in aircon, I think you're looking at £1500+ per room for a basic setup...

Re: The Room 101 thread - for things you hate or just having a bloody good moan
The heat made the weekend absolutely wretched for me. I took part in the weekly Darktide session with the Discord group on saturday, and given it was warmer outside than in when I started, I didn't open the windows. My PC runs pretty warm (though apparently not warm enough to melt my motherboard, u...

I must have the only decent Evri delivery guy in the country. Very friendly and always turns up in his specified time slot. Back to ranting, boiling weather and an abscess on my leg means I've hardly slept in three days and am feeling stabby. The temp's dropped but there's about as much wind as a fa...
