Re: General Gaming News
I'm not going to lower myself one bit by sticking up some nonsensical hyperbolic turd rambling youtube video with "BUNGIE IS COOKED!!!!" in large bold letters because it's bloody dense. What I will say is that I can't even begin to fathom a way for them to turn around Marathon's horrible reception,...

Re: General Gaming News
Mindseye is a weird one as it does feel like it is an openworld game but it isn't really, it's a linear story fps. I was reading the preview in Edge this week and the way it works is odd as it is built within the Everything engine that the developer has made which has been created to allow players t...

Re: Currently Playing
Finished Clair Obscur, it's a really good game. Really liked the world they created and the story was good and well told. Music and combat remained really good throughout. The level design started to be a bit lacking late on with fairly long dungeons that were all combat, this is where the lower bud...

Re: Currently Playing
I'm not sure what it is exactly, but in the gameplay I've seen, the combat just doesn't grab me at all - even beyond the parry timing, which having read what people are saying about it I know 100% I would struggle with massively. Maybe it feels better when playing than when watching someone else do...

Re: Currently Playing
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Believe the hype, this game is very, very good. I wasn't 100% sold on the combat to start with as I was struggling with parrying but once I moved to dodging and also turned the difficulty down I was having a lot more fun. My old ass reflexes are not good enough nowadays....

Re: General Gaming News
Do we know if they've "fixed" the monster level scaling? I recall that making exploration less exciting as it meant that every enemy you ever met was level-appropriate, and was generally not liked by players. I have it in my head that this was something they eventually patched out of the original r...

Re: General Gaming News
I'll give it a look but like others I barely played it so don't have much attachment to it outside of the classic Consolvania review.

Re: General Gaming News
There are two intriguing details that appear to be accurate from the leaks: - Bethesda have outsourced it - It’s in UE5 The latter is surely proof of concept that ES6 could work in UE5, presumably with some Creation gubbins in the back end. Can’t wait to see what the results are like. Oh, and appar...

Re: Switch & Nintendo News/Discussion
It's not just a handheld to be fair. I expected around £400 considering how component prices have gone up a lot since 2016. Game prices are a bit more eye opening with some first party games £75 for the physical version. I'd always felt that if I was going to buy a Switch 2 it would be next year so ...
Re: AtomFall
It's a game that clearly shows the limits of it's budget. I have found the exploration and general mystery to be rather compelling and have enjoyed discovering new stuff and slowly unlocking new parts of the institute. I do think it would have been a better game if they had scrapped the combat and m...

Re: AtomFall
Agree that it looks nice, combat isn't great though and the AI is pretty bad. Outside that though I am enjoying the fact that you are just out there investigating a mystery and there aren't really quests per say, just leads to follow.

Re: Currently Playing
I've really been enjoying Avowed, helps that I have a soft spot for the Pillars lore as PoE 2 is one of my favourite cRPGs. I think the combat is a lot of fun, some of the best melee combat I've used in one of these types of games. I also like the smaller maps and more low key feel to the game. I've...

Re: General Gaming News
You never want to see people lose their jobs of course but all the senior team left years ago and took a lot of staff with them so it's just a name nowadays.
