Re: The 'Look What the Postman Brought Me' Thread - Technology Edition

Damn, Prey turned Team Green? *checks outside for signs of the apocalypse* When one person joins, another leaves. I had been waiting to upgrade my graphics card for a while, been on a 2060 Super since launch and it has long since past its best, especially as I have moved to a 1440p monitor in...

Re: The Game Awards 2025 Edition -June 6- 10pm BST

Reading reports on the handheld it sounds like Microsoft have done a lot of work on making the version of Windows better with an Xbox front-end you can load into which reduces a lot of the Windows footprint when you are in it. The Xbox game stuff means that anything that is any game you own that is ...

https://www.ign.com/articles/dungeons-dragons-neverwinter-nights-2-enhanced-edition-is-launching-on-consoles-for-the-first-time If they fix the camera controls, it's an instabuy for me. I've tried replaying it a few times over the last few years but I found the control schemes so woeful that it was...

Re: Currently Playing

Danganronpa v3 Finished my journey though all the Danganronpa games and I love them. They have their Japanesey cringe issues like when you max out a social link you get their underwear as a novelty item (a 10x10 pixelart icon to be exact) but the good is so much silly fun and the murders and trials...

Re: General Gaming News

I thought the Bond game looked like an Uncharted game and Bond looked a bit like Nathan Drake, especially in the opening shots. That isn't to say that is a bad thing, I think that's a better direction to go than to make Bond a Hitman type game.

Re: General Gaming News

I'm not going to lower myself one bit by sticking up some nonsensical hyperbolic turd rambling youtube video with "BUNGIE IS COOKED!!!!" in large bold letters because it's bloody dense. What I will say is that I can't even begin to fathom a way for them to turn around Marathon's horrible reception,...

Re: General Gaming News

Mindseye is a weird one as it does feel like it is an openworld game but it isn't really, it's a linear story fps. I was reading the preview in Edge this week and the way it works is odd as it is built within the Everything engine that the developer has made which has been created to allow players t...

Re: Currently Playing

Finished Clair Obscur, it's a really good game. Really liked the world they created and the story was good and well told. Music and combat remained really good throughout. The level design started to be a bit lacking late on with fairly long dungeons that were all combat, this is where the lower bud...

Re: Currently Playing

I'm not sure what it is exactly, but in the gameplay I've seen, the combat just doesn't grab me at all - even beyond the parry timing, which having read what people are saying about it I know 100% I would struggle with massively. Maybe it feels better when playing than when watching someone else do...

Re: Currently Playing

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Believe the hype, this game is very, very good. I wasn't 100% sold on the combat to start with as I was struggling with parrying but once I moved to dodging and also turned the difficulty down I was having a lot more fun. My old ass reflexes are not good enough nowadays....

Re: General Gaming News

Do we know if they've "fixed" the monster level scaling? I recall that making exploration less exciting as it meant that every enemy you ever met was level-appropriate, and was generally not liked by players. I have it in my head that this was something they eventually patched out of the original r...

Re: General Gaming News

I'll give it a look but like others I barely played it so don't have much attachment to it outside of the classic Consolvania review.

Re: General Gaming News

There are two intriguing details that appear to be accurate from the leaks: - Bethesda have outsourced it - It’s in UE5 The latter is surely proof of concept that ES6 could work in UE5, presumably with some Creation gubbins in the back end. Can’t wait to see what the results are like. Oh, and appar...

Re: Switch & Nintendo News/Discussion

It's not just a handheld to be fair. I expected around £400 considering how component prices have gone up a lot since 2016. Game prices are a bit more eye opening with some first party games £75 for the physical version. I'd always felt that if I was going to buy a Switch 2 it would be next year so ...

Re: AtomFall

It's a game that clearly shows the limits of it's budget. I have found the exploration and general mystery to be rather compelling and have enjoyed discovering new stuff and slowly unlocking new parts of the institute. I do think it would have been a better game if they had scrapped the combat and m...
