Re: Elden Ring
There are some very strong magic builds where the extent of your spellcasting is just loading yourself up with buffs before charging into melee. It doesn't really feel like playing a mage really but it gives you some build variety at least.

Re: Elden Ring
I've just started a new character so that I can try the DLC with someone who isn't insanely over levelled. Going to quite the trip replaying this for the first time I imagine.

Re: The Absolute State Of It - It's The UK Politics Thread!
This is the front cover The Spectator is going with tomorrow. https://www.reddit.com/r/ukpolitics/comments/1cy8f4d/tomorrows_spectator_cover_the_deluge/ It would be amazing if this turned out to be his 'lettuce' moment. Absolute own goal and turned himself into a meme literally the moment he announc...

Re: Elden Ring
I think a lot of the elements you're identifying as obtuse are just things that you kind of learn to spot intuitively the more you play these games. Having played through Demon and Dark Souls multiple times before even the second Dark Souls came out, I think experience of knowing what weird little q...

Re: The Absolute State Of It - It's The UK Politics Thread!
The best thing is that they have a £2,000,000 press room in Downing Street that they could have done that announcement from and yet for some reason thought that making him stand outside in the pissing rain looking like an utter loser was a better idea. I hope they get utterly wiped out. Absolute bot...

Re: Elden Ring
That's one of the things I love about these games. If certain significant features are hidden away like that it makes you wonder what other more optional hidden content there is to discover. It rewards you slowly going through each area and checking corners for hidden walls and buttons and encourage...

Oh man, RIP Todd.
Can't believe it's getting on for fifteen years since our first GRAW heydays. He really was such a lovely bloke.

Re: Forum Bugs and Errors Reporting Thread
The default format for all of our themes is actually the opposite to what we are used to. I have an extension installed which flips them over automatically for every theme. Likely for those experiencing any issues that the extension just failed to load correctly for some reason.

Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series
I was very skeptical about it given that it is made by the absolute hacks who butchered GoT and demonstrated as it went on that they had no real care for telling a compelling or well thought out story. I know the books are finished so there's less they need to make up themselves with footnotes but I...

So I finally got to the Gold Saucer.
It is absolutely brilliant. So many little things to make you smile, I especially love the robot Tonberry room servant.

Re: Currently Playing
First time I think I've ever done an escort mission side quest and genuinely enjoyed it. The battle variant of the theme is really good too. When he leads you to the next area which was previously blocked off it also unlocks the piano mini game, which has been my favourite one so far. I'm sweeping u...

Re: Currently Playing
I haven't had much chance to play this week so I'm only in the Junon city at the moment, but from what I've gathered the protorelics are entirely optional. I believe the side story revolves around fighting an optional endgame boss for extra loot and that's all. I quite liked the Fort Condor game. I'...
