Well that is me finished Star Trek: Discovery Season 1.

The twist was good, but the ending, I thought, was dull and uninspired.

Bojack Horseman season 1 & 2

Excellent. At first it all a bit weird but when you get used to the idea of the anthropomorphism and watch it for the storylines it really picks up, especially in S2. I will continue to watch this but before I start with S3 I want to do another comedy first
8/10

Started Altered Carbon tonight.

One episode in, I really like it. Pays am awful lot of homage, it feels, to Blade Runner.

Finished Killing Eve. Really enjoyed that! The assasin lass is just great!

Started The Haunting Of Hill House with zero expectations. I love the original and I even love most of the remake even though its bad. This is a completely different take and so far its actually really good. The structure is almost as if "It" had both parts spliced together and told the story non linearly. Really surprised at the quality of it.

Finally got around to finishing Altered Carbon, which we'd started several months back. I honestly loved it; it grabbed me right from the start with the core concept behind the world building - the fact that your consciousness is stored on a fancy memory chip implanted in your neck, and it can be transferred and backed up like any other digital data. It really plays around with the concept and imagines a future where it's the norm, and all of the changes to the human condition it brings. It's extremely well produced, it's well acted and it looks stunning. It's probably the best new series I've come across in a few years.
Just finished this myself and I concur with Raid's opinion. Really enjoyed it.

Another cracking recommendation this, by the way. We just finished episode 4 and are enjoying it immensely. Great writing, characters, structure, everything. Stephen King has said he thinks it's a work of genius.

As my wife put it, "really high praise coming from the maker of The Langoliers"

But, yeah, watch it if you aren't already!

I think we just finished 6 (an episode that almost runs in real time while also jumping timeframes) and the camerawork is amazing! Also the actors ability to act while the camera does these sweeps without ever flinching is really something.

A TV series of Hill House has no right being this good. I actually laughed when I first seen it pop up on netflix.

Same! I think I rolled my eyes also. That last film remake with Catherine Z-J really was terrible...

Been following Better Call Saul.

I like it but sometimes I just don't get the relationship he has with his bird. She is a weakish character anyway to my mind but then it's almost as if she's there to produce yet another left of arc plot line that didn't need including.

The most recent episode I think highlights this with her reaction at the end.

Also Gus Fring is a real bell end in this series (in a good way). He was almost likeable in Breaking Bad but in this series they have properly drawn out his nastiness.
