Help me find a game

I've got a hankering to play a game that looks like Desperados/Commandos but it had an Asian setting. I'm pretty sure I've got it free on a platform somewhere but don't know what to search for
Has that type of genre got a name?

OK, the tutorial fucked me over. A sniper dude shows up and I think the game expects me to snipe everyone from then on. I thought 'no', I'm doing it with a sword thankyouverymuch.
Walked over to a strawhat dude and bam, nothing. I couldn't kill him. Couldn't attack at all. I alt-f4 in disgust. I'll go back as I think it autosaved right before but it pissed off no small amount.

I got the hankering to play after playing crown of the magister and wanting a similar thing to that but where a well executed stealth attack doesn't initiate battle with everyone (even if you get initiative). At least Shadow tactics allows me to stealth kill and move on
