Couldn't find a thread for this already, so apologies if I've missed it.

This is an action-orientated fighty-fight game in the Forgotten Realms universe, and it sounds a bit good:

It's also out tomorrow on Game Pass, and I'll be downloading it to have a go. Will report back

Interested in hearing your thoughts on this one. I looked at the screenshots on the Game Pass coming soon page the other day and was slightly skeptical of it when I saw it was a more action oriented thing.

Or is it "the worst game I've played this year"?

Daaamn, I've watched that video now and it looks and sounds really, really bad.

I guess I'll still give it a go, but I'm left wondering what the PCG reviewer was smoking as it sounds like he played a completely different game.

I never got along with the original Dark Alliances but I’ll give this a go out of D&D interest and morbid curiosity.

Sitting on mostly negative Steam reviews currently. I'm downloading on GP, but it's also fair to say at this point I'm only doing so through curiosity and a hastily made promise to Mantis

It’s a b-tier 360 game. There’s a few nice ideas like having to heat yourself up before running through ice to protect from damage/slow but it doesn’t feel great and it’s oh so jank! First boss fight, the models don’t load in for a good 10-20 second, you only have their shadow to know where they are - this is on series X btw.

Yeah, life’s too short for this!

Presumably the development plan was 1) Get on Gamepass; 2) Shout "DUNGEONS & DRAGONS!" to the skies; 3) Chimps + keyboards.

Oh don't worry about that, I watched the linked video and suffice to say I think I'll be giving this one a pass.

Played a mission just now online after a couple of failed attempts to get into a game. Seems like the net code might be a bit of a mess as there were significant issues with enemies standing around one minute and then hitting you the next, I had an enemy fall through the world and I kept taking fire damage whenever I walked near some fire without actually standing in it. Not great for a game that relies on timed hits and blocking.

Does it require a connection to the server even if you only want to do single player?

Played a bit. Yep, it's trash.

Uninstalled.

I don't think so.

Just turned onto Eurogamer's Let's Play of Dark Alliance to find Ian Higton breaking down in hysterics / despair as his character endlessly chugs a potion on a loop due to a bug.
