I'm concerned that they are saying an SSD drive is a requirement now in order to play on PC. My desktop is six years old now, so I'm not sure if this will actually run :(

I figure we're approaching the point where that'll be the norm, what with all of the consoles now having fast storage. We've seen just how much console specs affect PC games with the debacle over VRAM.

I had a very quick look at it after the update. All your skill points are now reset (I was only level 10 so no biggie), new car combat and movement skills on the base tiers. Your implants can be upgraded using resource items, the higher the upgrade the higher the resource item needs to be (as it was with the weapon upgrades).

I attacked a group of punks and got a GTA star rating that faded pretty quick once I left the area. Will give car combat a spin and see how that goes.

Game still a bit janky but I don't think that will ever be fixed. Looking forward to getting back into it.

Time to stop playing Starfield and get into Cyberpunk again.

Oops...just creamed my pants — on the realisation I will finally be able to play this after my rebuild! and Keanu?! Didn't realise he featured?

Played a bit more and the cops are really aggressive. I accidentally ran over someone at a pedestrian crossing and was chased for several minutes and hosed with bullets. Don't get seen doing crimes :|

Found a new car with weapons. Has a pair of machine guns under the bonnet, moves like the clappers and looks cool as hell.

Picked up the expansion and started a new game.

Nooooooo I have to do that fucking tedious braindance crap again

I'm really trying to drink it all in on this third or fourth playthrough. It's just so much more immersive than Starfield. I keep firing Starfield up though as I quite like just going to planets with abundant lifeforms and murdering them all for that sweet, sweet xp.

If there was a way to skip those parts of the game I'd gladly take it, I really hate them as well.

Yeah, the brain-dancing is a cool concept, but in practice nothing about it is actually fun and it just kills the pacing of an opening that I think is otherwise quite strong.

I'm planning on giving this another go. Part of my issue with the game was how bland the RPG mechanics felt. I don't know why devs continue to add skill systems that grant 1% of something. It's as if they only look at balancing from an end-game perspective, where all of those 1%s add up, but when you're leveling up there's absolutely nothing that makes you excited to take it. From the brief look I had at the new system last night, it looks much improved.

Got past the braindance haha - and I've cleared Watson of almost everything, I think. Selling weapons is a great way to get eddies, thank goodness, because the cyberware stuff is expensive as f. I love not having to think about what gd outfit I'm going to have to wear in order to boost up my armor. It's slow going though, with the cyberware stuff, since the bits and bobs to upgrade things are much harder to come by now, it seems. I'm still loving it, though, the dirty streets and hovels to explore and get lost in, I feel like I'll never see everything bc the city is so huge. I'm back to playing a netrunner type, with smart weapons and a fancy katana.

My tip is to only sell the white-level gear and break down everything else into parts, there's also a perk early in one of the skill trees that gives you 25% more upgrade parts when you do so.
