Come to that conclusion also. I wouldn't pay that for the one mode that might interest me.

I wonder if Activision will be tempted to put out the BR mode on it's own at some point in the future. It's the one part garnering good publicity, but people are not going to pay £40-£50 for it.

I suspect that with the game being an annual franchise, it would be all too easy to say that next year's offering will be the Battle Royale mode standalone. Of course they'll still charge £50+ for it, and maybe throw in the standard DM and zombies modes in with the £90 "ultimate edition".

Nah a BR only game is too slight at £50, even for CoD fans, especially considering the competition.

Wouldn't we have said the same thing about a multiplayer game with no single player attached just a couple of years ago? It doesn't stop them trying. It's only too slight until the marketing makes people think it isn't.

I don't think so as we have had mutliplayer only shooters in the past.

Yeah, err, I'm not sure why that didn't occur to me.

It does feel a little odd though given that titles like Battlefield and Battlefront have added single-player components to what started as a multiplayer-only title, yet with Call of Duty they're doing it in reverse.

It wasn't the plan though. At the time it sounded like Treyarch were trying something different with the singleplayer and it just wasn't going to come together in time. I expect next years game, which is IW's game, to have a singleplayer component as it was probably already well into development when the decision was made to cut the one in BLOPS 4.

It will be intriguing to see what new COD game will come out next year. BO 4 was predictable, so I would not be surprised to hear next summer of Modern Warfare 5. You see the thing is about COD, originality died the minute Modern Warfare 2 became a phenomenon. So don't expect any.

So, an offer for you then.

I replaced my gfx card, and got a code for the latest COD as part of the purchase. I could not be less interested in adversarial shooters and would use it purely to see what the new card can do, which seems a bit wasteful when others here might be looking at spending a wad to actually enjoy the game, so...

Anyone want it? Only criteria from me is it must be something you really want to play (i.e. don't just nab it because I am offering, would like it to go to someone who will really enjoy it).

Just say the word. If nobody wants it will gift to our late leader Mr Prey, as I know he likes those sort of games.

dammit. Been waiting for the price to be more reasonable... and still waiting.

been watching Shroud and DrDisrespect play a lot on twitch/youtube and it is definitely faster than PUBG (talking about the BR part of iot) with lots of jumping around and sliding. The gunplay looks pretty strong.
