Nintendo have just re-released one of their classic games Super Mario RPG), so of course that means Spotify is serving me up god awful dubstep versions of the soundtrack. It happens every time.

Them: “We need someone to cover Inverness jobs this week”
Me: “What about the old boy? He’s always said he doesn’t mind a longer drive”
Them: “What old boy?”
Me: “That new start from a few months ago with the grey beard”
Them: “Uhh, he’s 2 years younger than you!”
Me: :| :?

I'm 39 and my beard has enough white that soon I'll be able to pass for a dishevelled, misanthropic Santa.

It's the run up to christmas, which means every parcel delivery company becomes bloody useless. I've had a whole bunch of low-value packages this last couple of weeks, and while throughout the rest of the year they all get put in a safe place when I'm not in (I live in an incredibly safe neighbourhood), in December I have to walk 30 minutes each way to a sodding post office. They don't even give you the option of leaving in a safe place anymore, even with disclaimers you have to sign to say you're happy with them taking no responsibility, and there's no option to have them redelivered because the courier have washed their hands of it.

Meanwhile mine get lobbed over the back gate even when we're in and able to collect in person

The first thing I know about it is when I get an email saying the parcel was delivered, along with a helpful photo of said lobbed package

While we’re on a delivery rant, Amazon’s tracking system seems to have gone completely to pot in the last few weeks. I’ve had a few deliveries and the delivery time slot has been completely wrong on all of them, and if the map appears when they’re 8 stops away (not a guarantee, apparently), it’ll show them sat in one place for ages, still 8 stops away, and then suddenly there’ll be a knock on the door. It used to be reliable most of the time - I guess it must be new drivers they’ve got round here that don’t bother updating the system as they go along.

I’ll jump in on this too. The Royal Mail sorting office for Glasgow central, I would assume the busiest office in Scotland, is open for collections 2 hours a day now. 8am to 10am. It’s the run up to Christmas and you have a two hour window to collect a parcel. Worse still is that if your property was inaccessible you can’t just ask for a redelivery with the tracking number so you *have* to go there for somefuckingreason! Not sure how they claim inaccessible either since there’s a bloody service button that lets you right in!

RM are now worse than Yodel.

I haven't had issues with Royal Mail, but Parcelforce are the company I'm moaning about this time. I'm mostly just bitter that it's both windy and absolutely chucking it down this morning (I don't drive), but it's the only time I'll be able to go and collect the sodding thing.

I do have exactly the same issues with Amazon couriers at the minute though Wrath, I just assumed that they were taking their lunch break or something. They don't bother knocking most of the time these days, but at least they've defaulted to leaving parcels in the porch when I'm in the house rather than forcing me to put shoes on to collect it from behind the bin.

Edit: And just to top it all off, one of the items was just sodding missing from the order! Fucks' sakes.

Randomly wacking my hand off stuff as I walk past. Was the stair banister yesterday and the kitchen table today. Took a lump out of my knuckle last week on something random (then repeatedly hit the same spot several times). If I was a sheepdog I'd be visiting the barn with the farmers shotgun at this stage.

You should try changing worn plough points...cracking worn nuts into razor-sharp plough metal is something else!
