If he did lose - and assuming it's not like the 2000 election where it was so marginal that Al Gore almost won - what could he do other than start a protracted and presumably futile legal battle? If it's in the courts past January, would Biden just remain president-elect until it was resolved? At the very least, my understanding is that Trump would still cease to be president on inauguration day unless the courts have overturned the result by then.
My understanding is that Trump ceases to be President on January 20th regardless of what he says, and then either he or his successor is made President during the ceremony. From what I remember that is pretty securely enshrined in their legislation. There is the possibility that he'd try to pass emergency powers to prevent this, but I'd be surprised if that didn't require approval from other parts of government.

I stayed up to watch the DNC last night....couldn't bear more than 10 seconds of any of the speakers. But the twitter piss take made things better. What a fucking car crash, Jr. and his skirt, Guilfoyle, both coked up and raving. The night essentially: "America isn't racist, but here's how I survived racism" and "This is just how shit America is, 12 MORE YEARS!"

The GOP hasn't bothered iterating any sort of new platform, just given carte blanche to Trump Corp 2.0. Who could have conceived America would ever descend to this pile of shit show?

Guilfoyle was incredible. She just went for it and kept going and going. Maybe she thought they were going to add ambient crowd noise or something?

I keep thinking of that flashback in Watchmen where they're chasing off protesters and Nite Owl asks what happened to the American dream, and the Comedian replies that it came true - they're living in it. Kind of how it feels now. All you need to get to the top is lots of money, a big mouth and no principles.

This has been out there for some time (up to the "shoot them in the legs" bit), but it's still fucking stupid.

That CNN poll with put Biden at 49% and Trump at 48% - apparently that was based from registered voters in the swing states that actually decide the elections.

Yeah...Trump is going to win, prepare for it.

Holy shit !

Worrying times, the whole trump entourage is toxic and soulless, cannot see how 4 years will not descend into hell tbh. What can you do when so many swallow the power of repeated and uncontested lies. No-one makes the Edwin answer for his lies.

Maybe hell for you whitey, but he’s done more for black people than any other president except maybe Abraham Lincoln.

Yep, they are thriving, living full lives, buying their own homes, making loads of money and meeting their fullest potential....they've never had it so good, Hail Trump!

I do wonder what will happen when eventually they'll turn on each other. Nobody that toxic with that ego will stay friends for long.

There is zero compassion in him, look at how the NZ Prime Minister responded to the mosque mass shooting, she went straight there and cried as she held members of the victims families. Then introduced necessary gun controls. Contrast that to how Trump responds to anything tragic, nothing reassuring or caring, cold and divisive, hardly presidential.
