Those most involved in the "election was stolen"/Insurrection are feeling the trident prongs of justice prodding them in the arse, time is running out for their deception and they are beginning the end phase of all cornered rats...Flynn most noticeably, is desperate for his Black Swan gaslighting to be taken up and employed to get him out of the trouble he is fully aware he is in...

Yeah but worryingly that cuts both ways. If they don't nail down Trumpy soon there is a risk that he could get back into power. If that were to happen, I can't help but think it would be disastrous for both the US and the rest of the world.

Squeaky bum time for a few members of Congress no doubt, past and present.

I’d love to know how many of the rioters filmed footage that landed them (and others) in prison. Also the comments nailed it by pointing out that they were fighting to elect a man whose government wrecked their lives, which they’re actively ranting about during the riot.

Kudos to the security guy for holding fire.

To be honest, the fact that Donald didn't take the US out of NATO when he was president is still fairly astonishing considering how little regard he obviously has for the organisation and just how far up Vladimir's arsehole his tongue is.

He could have at least hired a Shirley Bassey impersonator to sing Goldsneaker.

I still find it hysterical and utterly depressing that these two sentences can appear next to each other.

Image

He's not just a liar, he's a recently convicted liar, and yet that's not seen as a hindrance to running to be the most powerful man in the country. The utter hypocrisy that he and others of his ilk have managed to somehow overcome is genuinely impressive.

2024 is going to be a horrible election, almost certainly worse than 2016 and 2020. The recent stuff about Biden's memory is going to be jumped on and pounded into people's heads by his opposition, and it's going to work. The Democrats are going to have to come up with an answer for it, because at the end of the day they're putting an 81 year-old man up for one of the most demanding jobs in politics, against an opponent who is entirely at home dragging people down to roll in the mud with him.

John Stewart recently returned to present The Daily Show, and it's worth a watch if you can manage it.

We are going to see exactly why (the people behind)fElon bought Twitter — in fact already seeing — too...the US economy is in incredible health post covid, and Biden's advances despite the mountain range of lies, mendacity and obfuscation that is the Republican party are worthy enough, but then you have the dereliction of media, desperate to amplify both-sides-ism to farm anxiety and keep attention, at the expense of truth.

What baffles me is why it is not standard across the world for anyone seeking public office to have to take a basic mental competency test. Nothing complicated, just the sort of test that's used in diagnosing dementia. I can't imagine Biden or Trump completing it without something being flagged up. There should be a reasonable upper age limit too - let's say 75. Not simply because of the risks of health and mental function, but also because they're not likely to live to see the consequences of their political choices.

Joe Biden is being incredibly selfish in running for a second term (and arguably the first term). His memory and mental acuity is justifiably under question and he's going to be 86 if he lives to the end of a second term, which is daft in the best of circumstances but obscene when you consider that Kamala Harris would be the presumptive nominee if he stepped down. If she didn't absolutely rinse Trump in an election, I'd be appalled.

Its not selfish, its stupid. He could literally walk away and be remembered as one of the most successful presidents in history. If he loses to Trump that all goes away and he'll be remembered alongside Ford instead.

I suppose it's probable that if Trump wins he'll just cancel the money he owes. I honestly think throwing him in jail for the rest of his life would be worth the short term chaos it would cause with the lunatics who support him. Chop off the rancid little toe to save the body.
