Man, that brings back memories. I recall you saying that years and years ago on the old forum. You realise he'll be King some day. Not many people in the last century can say they've been personally hit in the face by the King of England.

I'd love to have called him an Edwin to his face, as well. Nice one, Snowy!

Re: The Food Thread
It really fucking hurt! I remember having a right barney with the copper too - what I get arrested because I objected to being assaulted?? What happened to Magna Carta, arrest that jug-eared fuck too!
Was all nothing in the end though, we often got arrested, but the old bill would turn up without their numbers on, arrest us for breach of the peace because we did something arbitrary like cross a stile on a public bridleway when they told us not too, then give us cups of tea in the meat wagon till the hunt finished and then de-arrest us.
It was shitty, as the hunt and supporters would get away with all sorts of nasty shit (staging cub dig-outs to lure in sabs, them kicking the shit out of us when we sat down where they were digging, stuff like that) but on all the hunts I sabbed there was only one fox killed, so for the most part we did what we set out to do.

Re: The Food Thread
Actually, I've just realised, bizarrely, that my response above to your post about Prince Charles was almost identical to the post I made (I guess about 12 years ago) to your original post on the subject. ¬_¬Stormbringer wrote: ↑Sun Aug 19, 2018 8:10 pmMan, that brings back memories. Interesting Ian. Did not know that about you. Riding crop to the chops will definitely smart.

Moar caveman food.
Today I am going to have to dodge the rain, so the WSM is not an option. I have some holiday coming up soon though and you can be damned certain I will be smoking meat in that time, so bear with me.
Today I will be cooking burgers on the BBQ, but am hoping that my friend the butcher has some wagyu burgers for my eating pleasure. Pics to follow.

While a lot of the hunt sabs were vegetarian/vegan, I never was. My eyes face front, I have sharp teeth, I am a carnivore born
Always loved a good burger, and if a wagyu burger had existed at the tail end of the 80’s when I was sabbing I would have devoured it with the same relish I did tonight’s little beauties - pics tomorrow.

Bloody hell, I remember you saying that exactly same sentence approx. 12 years ago too. Get some new stories/phrases in your repertoire, Snowy. ¬_¬

Re: The Food Thread
Haha if it ain't broke, don't fix it Doug. Also your recall is quite scary!
So the obligatory piccies - I am still getting used to how bloody fast everything happens with a BBQ compared to the smoker (the BBQ is a new acquisition whereas been smoking meat for a couple of years now), so grabbing snaps was secondary to me moving quick to get everything about right.
That is some fatty burger right there.
Onto the grill - to be served with corn (as you can see) and coleslaw.
And the finished article. Double cheeseburger with Monterey Jack cheese, burger sauce, lettuce, bacon, onion, jalapeno pepper (in place of gherkin which I detest) and tomato on a toasted brioche roll. The lettuce, onion and tomato were all home grown too, which makes them so much better.
Yes, it is a touch calorific, but was all I ate yesterday with the exception of some muesli late morning.
It was the MOAB - the Mother Of All Burgers - according to Mrs Snowy All that fat rendered off leaving an amazingly tasty patty, with some nice sear marks from the griddle.

Re: The Food Thread
As always, Snowy makes me sit pining at my desk for some delicious carnivorous meal.
I was feeling lazy today and didn't make my usual trek, so ended up going half the distance and buying jacket potatos from a Tesco Express. I can spice them up plenty, but they don't really compare to wagyu burgers.

Re: The Food Thread
Oi, Snowy, any chance of running one of those over to me tonight?
I have a Youtube channel now! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6kVsr ... Q/featured
