Re: The 'Look What the Postman Brought Me' Thread - Technology Edition

Nice one, mate.

I'm looking at doing the same, although maybe only as far as the 6800xt. If you don't mind my asking, what CPU will you be running with this?

Re: Snowy's new rig

That's a thing of beauty.

What was your previous rig? Just curious for the sake of comparison.

Re: The gig thread

Nice one, Mantis! Did you end up playing everything faster than usual? That was my experience and that of many others that I know within the local music scenes. Any footage? There is a video of my first show (the band I was in played an instrumental set before we had a vocalist) and it's mad to look...

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

It's... fine, I guess? I wouldn't describe the acting as stellar, Costner comes across as a bit wooden at times, and it took me an embarrassing amount of time to realise Lee Harvey Oswald was played by Gary Oldman . . Understandable, the man is a master of his craft and blends into his roles so sea...

Re: Requesting assistance from you awesome folks

Sent a little something your way, mate.

Got an uncle going through chemo right now for lung cancer, and having the NHS is definitely not something to take for granted.

Wishing you the best going forward with your treatment, through the good days and the rough ones.

Take care.

I went for a Western Digital WD_BLACK 1TB SN770 M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 NVMe in the end - £69.

Thanks everyone.

Re: The gig thread

I saw Gojira last night and it was a good show, nice and varied set.

I wasn't really into Alien Weaponry, but I can respect their mix of mauri culture into their tunes, just not really for me.

Enjoy it when the time arrives, fellas!

Re: The gig thread

Back from Katatonia and it was an enjoyable set, but I have to say, Solstafir stole the show for me. Quality from start to finish.

I had next to no experience of their music before the gig and I'm now a fan.

Edit: serves me right for using mt phone...

Is it worth mentioning that NVMe are the fast ones, and not all M.2 drives are NVMe?
Absolutely as I wouldn't have looked at that. Cheers.

M.2 SSD

Looking for recommendations for decent M.2 SSD drives as I've decided to add one to my system. Ideally, looking at a 1TB one, minimum. I almost grabbed a Kingston one for 50 quid, but suddenly felt apprehensive as I wondered if I'd heard bad things about them before. A quick google brought up a damn...
